The countdown for the Honiara Netball Association (HNA) 2026 season has officially begun.
The Honiara Netball Association (HNA) has confirmed that its highly anticipated 2026 league season will commence on May 30, 2026.
HNA confirmed to Star Sports this week that 2026 HNA season is set to commence on 30 May 2026.
“We are thrilled to announce that the HNA Netball League is officially scheduled to kick off on 30 May 2026,” the Association stated.
“To ensure every match is fair, safe, and professionally managed, we are rolling out our compliance roadmap. This is about building a professional foundation for the sport we love.
”This year’s announcement comes with a renewed focus on professionalism and governance. Beyond the physical preparations on the court, the Association is rolling out a comprehensive Legal and Technical Compliance roadmap to elevate the league’s standards.”
HNA officials emphasized that the 2026 season is about more than just the game—it’s about building a sustainable future for netball in the Solomon Islands.
“To ensure all participating clubs are ready for the opening whistle, the HNA has outlined several critical milestones including Technical Training: Workshops for officials and umpires to ensure high-quality officiating, Club Constitution Reviews to ensure all teams meet updated 2026 legal standards and Facility Readiness: Final inspections of the courts to ensure player safety.
HNA also confirmed important events before the official kickoff of the season. These include the Umpires Association Formation which is set for this Saturday at the Legacy House at King George, Umpires Training set for 7 March, Bench official training set for 7 March and the clubs consultation review which sets for 21 March”.
Meanwhile, as the season just over three months away, the atmosphere among local clubs is electric. Defending champions and rising contenders alike are already hitting the courts for pre-season drills.
Fans can expect high competitive competition across the Super Division down to Division C when the competition commences on 30 May 2026.
