The Honiara Table Tennis Association (HTTA) proudly brings the spirit of International Women’s Day to life at the Bethesda Disability Center in East Honiara this Friday as they set to celebrate the International Women’s Day (IWD) with Sport.
HTTA confirmed that from 1pm to 3pm on Friday the 5th, young girls and women from Bethesda Disability Center will gather not just to play table tennis — but to celebrate empowerment, equality, and opportunity.
“This year’s theme focuses on giving our young girls and women equal opportunities to gain skills, build confidence, and grow into strong leaders through sport. Table tennis is more than a game. It teaches discipline, teamwork, quick thinking, and resilience — qualities that shape champions both on and off the table”.
The IWD celebration this Friday will feature, a powerful motivational talk from successful young women in sport, question and answer session to inspire open conversation, Team-building activities to strengthen friendship and confidence, Fun and engaging table tennis games and Exciting giveaways and prizes.
“At HTTA, we believe that every girl deserves the chance to shine, to lead, and to dream boldly. By creating safe and inclusive sporting spaces, we are building a future where women and girls stand strong, support one another, and reach their full potential”, HTTA confirmed.
“This International Women’s Day 2026, let’s rally together — not just for points on the scoreboard, but for progress, equality, and empowerment. Join us this Friday, 5th, from 1pm to 3pm at Bethesda Disability Center in East Honiara.Together, we serve for change”.
