The North Malaita Constituency has supported the Kafoasila Community High School (CHS) classroom project with the delivery of building materials to help resume construction work.
A total of 60 bags of cement, steel rods and mesh wire were delivered to the school last week after construction was delayed due to a shortage of materials.
The assistance is expected to significantly speed up progress toward the completion of the new classroom.
The project was initially started through community efforts, but limited resources slowed its progress.
With the timely support from the constituency, construction is now expected to move forward, bringing the school closer to providing a safer and more conducive learning environment for students.
Once completed, the new classroom will benefit up to 200 students and more than 100 households in Ward 7, Ward 8 and Ward 9.
The improved infrastructure is expected to ease overcrowding and improve teaching and learning conditions for both students and teachers.
According to report school leaders and community representatives have expressed their appreciation to the North Malaita Constituency leadership for recognising the importance of education development and responding to the school’s needs.
They said the support reflects a strong commitment to strengthening education services and investing in the future of children in North Malaita.
