The construction of a new clinic at Sirovanga Village in Northwest Choiseul is progressing steadily as work on first phase is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
The project was funded by the Choiseul provincial government through its Provincial Capacity Development Fund (PCDF) development programme.
Once the initial phase is finalized, work will proceed to the second phase, marking another important milestone in improving healthcare infrastructure within the province.
The new clinic building will serve residents of Tavula Ward and the surrounding communities.
The facility is expected to significantly improve access to basic medical services, particularly for rural populations who often face difficulties travelling long distances to access healthcare.
Speaking on the progress of the project, Chris Leuku, coordinator of St Dominic Sirovanga Parish, expressed gratitude for the support provided.
“We are very thankful to the provincial government for funding this important project under the PCDF programme,” he said.
“This new clinic will greatly benefit the people of Tavula Ward and nearby communities,”
“We are hopeful that once the first phase is completed, the second phase will proceed smoothly so that our people can soon access better healthcare services,” Mr Leuku stated
However, the clinic is expected to strengthen primary healthcare delivery and contribute to improved health outcomes across the region.
The Sirovanga clinic project highlights the provincial government’s continued commitment to improving essential services and supporting rural development throughout Choiseul Province.
