SIX candidates have officially been nominated for the West Baegu Ward 5 seat in Malaita following the close of the nomination period on Wednesday 4th March.
The candidates are; Norman Suidani, Dick Futaimalau, Polycarp Erekwato, Stephen Irofoa, Robinson Ratu, and Ronnie Hendry.
Five of the candidates are new, while Dick Futaimalau is a former contestant and former Member of the Provincial Assembly for Ward 5.
The validation of nominations is scheduled for Thursday, and candidates who wish to withdraw must do so by Friday.
Following the close of nominations, a ballot paper draw will be conducted to determine the order of candidates on the ballot.
The seat became vacant following the death of former MPA and Premier Late Daniel Suidani.
