Busurata Road in the Central Kwara’ae highlands is progressing smoothly, with regravelling work resuming last week.
Maintenance had been temporarily paused while the contractor, Exodus Trade Development Ltd, relocated machinery to North Malaita to begin construction of the new Australian-funded Malu’u Market.
Following the return of the equipment, regravelling has resumed. ‘
This is expected to continue along the entire 15-kilometre stretch of road.
Busurata Road is a vital artery through one of Malaita’s most productive agricultural regions.
The unsealed road maintenance project is funded by the Australian Government through the National Transport Fund (NTF).
The project aims to improve market access, enhance service delivery, and ensure safer travel for residents and commuters in the highlands.
