To Edge South Island United In 3-2 shocker

The Fijian side Bula FC has secured a crucial 3 after edging past a determined South Island United 3-2 at the National Stadium in Honiara yesterday.
In a match that will be remembered as an intensive showdown, Bula FC came from behind to overcame a two-goal deficit, pulling off a stunning 3-2 victory over South Island yesterday to end round 4 in high note.
The match began with South Island firmly playing a high ptess game. Utilizing a high-press game style that penetrates the Bula’s midfield and defense.
South Island put on the high press game style at start of the match against Bula and quickly took an early lead in the 16 minutes by a goal by Yoo before Rovu Boyers doubled their lead in the 26 minutes.
Bula FC despite the 2 goals down they maintain their defense, created few chances but only not to find the right combination.
However, the momentum shifted after the break following Bula’s tactical team talk at half time break to get back to their game rythym.
Bula FC kickoff the second half with high pressure as they searching for goal to close the scoring gap until Dunn finds back of the net in the 56 minutes.
The goal give Bula the momentum to continue with high pressure against South Island United until Roy Krishna equalized from the spot to level the score.
In additional time, Wara of Bula ended with a low cross tapped into the bottom corner, completing the comeback to walkaway with the much coverted 3 points.
Bula head coach Stéphane Auvray told local media after the match said he is happy and proud of the boys for well execution of his game plan.
Coach Auvray appreciate the teams fighting spirit throughout the match. He said despite the team went down 2-0 in the first half, the boys didn’t give up, they fought until the final whistle and claimed the 3 points.
”Throughout the match we never lost faith, from 2-0 down, you see what a team is really made of. Today, we showed we have the heart of champions”, Auvray said.
For South Island, the loss is a bitter pill to swallow. Having dominated the first half but later giving away the 3 points.. For Bula, the three points. He said they accepted the defeat and take it as lesson for the next round of the competition in Fiji next month.
