The training prepares them for future recruitment in the Australia’s meat industry

A total of 40 participants successfully completed a three-day training on basic meat processing in Honiara.
The training was, held from Wednesday to Friday, concluding with a certificate presentation for all attendees.
The training, conducted under the Australian Partnership Program through the Labour Mobility Unit was designed to prepare participants for employment opportunities in Australia under the PALM Scheme.
Throughout the training, participants were equipped with essential knowledge and practical skills, including the maintenance of equipment, proper hygiene and sanitation practices, and an understanding of quality assurance standards and requirements.
They were also trained to follow safe work policies and procedures, communicate effectively in the workplace, and safely handle and sharpen knives.
The program aims to ensure participants are well-prepared and confident to meet workplace expectations and industry standards during their employment in Australia.
