RSIPF, CPLT helps CPCs in rural communities of Choiseul
The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) have conducted community capacity building and crime prevention for more than 70 Crime Prevention Committees (CPCs) for communities in and around Taro township recently.
RSIPF and CPLT also visited schools and conducted safety awareness for more than 700 students, including teachers for both primary and secondary schools in Taro, and presented gifts to the students and school administration.
As part of the community engagement, the RSIPF and CPLT participated in a church service at Niukiki, conducted an awareness program for the children, and met with the Niukiki CPC.
Deputy Director of the National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Raymond Togapada and CPLT team leader Tony Lee during the meeting encourage the CPC members to continue to do work, though it is on a volunteer basis, because it will benefit their community.
After the meeting, CPLT and RSIPF donate uniforms and torch lights to the Niukiki CPC members.

Chairman of the Niukiki community Mr. Benon Doropita acknowledged the team for coming to their village and donating uniforms and flashlights.
Mr. Doropita said this is the first time we receive CPLT coming with RSIPF. We are very grateful for the opportunity; the gift you have provided will greatly help our community CPC in their duties.
He said the equipment will assist them to do their work at night, and the uniform will help identify them as community police while they serve and protect their community.
RSIPF and CPLT also met with Zupizae CPC members and handed over CPC uniforms and torches.
At Zupizae, Chief Conlius Valaka acknowledged the RSIPF and CPLT for handing over uniforms and torch lights. This will really help our CPC members with their community work.
