Honiara: The Honiara Netball Association (HNA) will conduct an umpires training session this afternoon at the Youth Hub, beginning at 5pm.
HNA confirmed to Star Sport on Wednesday and started that the session is an essential technical training designed for both active and aspiring umpires, aimed at strengthening officiating standards within the local netball community ahead of the HNA 2026 season which set to kickoff in May.
According to the association, the training specifically targets Sabbath keepers who were unable to attend the recent session, as well as other participants who missed out on earlier opportunities.
“This training specifically targets Sabbath keepers who were unable to attend the recent session, as well as other participants who missed out on earlier training opportunities”.
HNA is encouraging all interested and affected individuals to attend and take full advantage of the session, highlighting its importance in building capacity and ensuring consistency in officiating across competitions.
HNA emphasized that such sessions are vital as officials prepare for the upcoming netball season, which is set to kick off in May later this year in Honiara.
The training is part of ongoing efforts to ensure umpires are well-equipped and consistent in their decision-making throughout the competition.
