Solomon Islands Meteorological Service has issued its first heavy raining warning advisory.
This came after a current low-pressure system is located south of the country.
The notice was issued at 7pm Tuesday evening 31st March 2026.
The advisory said, the heavy rain warning is for all the provinces.
An orange alert for all provinces was issued.
The likely impact of heavy rain, according to the Meteorological Service will see a possible of landslide over communities near hill slopes, flash floods close to large reivers and low-lying areas. Visibility will also be reduced.
According to the weather office if the low-pressure system does not move out of the country, then theres a high chance for a cyclone to form south of Western Province over the weekend.
Because of this, the country is expected to experience bad weather during the long Easter weekend.
The country is currently within the cyclone season.
