The Zone One Catholic youths of Buma Parish, West Kwaio, Malaita Province successfully concluded a vibrant and spiritually enriching weekend program leading up to Palm Sunday, held from March 27 to 29, 2026, at Igwa’s Holy Family Community.
The three-day event was organized by the Zone One Youth Executives in collaboration with community leaders, bringing together young people from seven communities across Zone One.
The gathering aimed to strengthen faith, unity, and youth engagement through a series of spiritual activities and discussions.
A key highlight of the program was a set of impactful spiritual talks delivered by Father Albert Kalu, who guided participants on the themes of “Understanding Life” and the Eucharist.
Additional sessions on vocation were led by catechists from the host community, encouraging youths to reflect on their purpose and calling within the Church and society.
The weekend also featured interactive discussions and presentations by the youths themselves, creating a platform for sharing ideas, experiences, and strengthening fellowship among participants.
The program concluded on a high note, with the Zone One Catholic youths leading the Palm Sunday Mass liturgy, marking a significant moment of active participation in the Church’s liturgical calendar.
The Youth Executives expressed their sincere appreciation to John Sugono, Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA), for his generous support through the provision of rations that sustained the program throughout the weekend.
They also extended heartfelt thanks to Father Albert Kalu, the host community catechists, and all Zone One community members and leaders whose contributions and commitment ensured the success of the event.
The successful gathering reflects the growing strength and unity of Catholic youths in Buma Parish, as they continue to deepen their faith and play an active role in their communities.
