Son of Late Daniel Suidani Declared Winner

West Baegu/Fataleka Ward 5 has a new Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA). He is Norman Suidani.
The result was officially declared on Thursday by Ward 5 Returning Officer Sonia Fiumae following the end of counting.
According to the final tally, Mr Suidani secured the highest number of votes with 479.
He was followed by Polycarp Erekwato with 442 votes, Stephen Irofoa with 340, Robinson Ratu with 240, Ronnie Hendry with 70, and Dick Futaimalau with 24 votes.
Norman is the son of Late Daniel Suidani, the former Ward 5 MPA.
Speaking to the Solomon Star shortly after the declaration, Mr Suidani thanked his supporters and all those who stood behind him during the by-election, expressing gratitude for the trust they placed in him.
“I’m happy today and looking forward to work together with the people and the communities in Ward 5,” he said on Thursday.
Supporters of Mr Suidani were seen celebrating in Auki following the announcement of the results.
