A Provincial Health Team has been deployed to Simbo Island to respond to worsening health conditions following recent assessments.
This was confirmed by Director of Provincial Health and Medical Services, Dickson Boara, in an interview with Solomon Star.
Dr. Boara said the team was deployed on Thursday and will be stationed at Lengana Village for an initial period of two weeks, operating in shifts.
He added that the deployment follows growing concerns over deteriorating sanitation conditions, which have increased the risk of disease outbreaks in affected communities.
Meanwhile, SOLMAT group from Honiara is also assisting the Provincial Health Team in their response efforts.
