The Western Provincial Investment Corporation (WPIC) – the business arm of the Western Provincial Government (WPG), has donated 200 bags of 9kg rice to support food relief efforts.
WPIC Senior Administration Officer Ray Solomon told Solomon Star on Tuesday, the donation was aimed at assisting communities affected by Cyclone Maila in Western and Choiseul Provinces.
The consignment of rice was handed over to the Provincial Disaster Operations Committee (PDOC), which currently oversees the distribution to affected areas.
PDOC Chairman Collin Potakana acknowledged the timely support, thanking WPIC for its assistance to all the impacted communities.
