Solomon Islands international Jimson Abana is set to join Fijian side Nadi FC ahead of the upcoming 2026 season.
No stranger to domestic football in Fiji, the 19-year-old forward previously featured for Labasa FC, where he enjoyed a successful spell with the club.
Abana is the latest signing for the Green Machine as Nadi FC looks to strengthen its squad for the new campaign.
Speaking to Star Sports, Abana said he is excited about the new challenge and eager to continue his development.
“I have spent some time with Labasa and I’m now excited to join Nadi. I’m ready to face new challenges and help the club in the best way I can,” Abana said.
During his time with Labasa, Abana played a key role in the club’s success, helping them claim the 2025 Fiji FACT title in June before ending a 26-year home-title drought by winning the 2025 Battle of the Giants (BOG) at Subrail Park in Labasa later in the year.
“This season I want to continue proving myself and help Nadi win titles. It won’t be easy, but it will be a great experience as we move forward this year,” he added.
Nadi FC has long been a familiar destination for Solomon Islands footballers, having previously recruited the likes of Bartram Suri, Stanley Waita’a, George Lui, Alwin Hou, William Komasi and others.
Abana said he is proud to follow in their footsteps and hopes to continue that legacy.
“I am not only representing myself and my family, but also my nation, and I’m determined to do my best this season,” he said.
Abana also took the opportunity to thank his former club, Labasa FC, for their support over the past year.
“I would like to thank the club, the management, my teammates and my friends in Labasa who made me feel at home and supported me throughout my time there,” he said.
Meanwhile, another Solomon Islander set to feature for the Green Machine is former Kossa FC and Nadroga FC defender Steven Koti.
The 2026 Fiji Premier League season is scheduled to begin in February, with Abana expected to depart the Solomon Islands on February 14.
