THE Parliament Opposition group leader Jeremiah Manele yesterday urged the government to ensure permanent secretaries turn up for the Bills hearings in Parliament.
“The Bills and Legislation Committee had to postpone hearings because PSs failed turn up,” Mr Manele told Parliament.
He said PSs should be committed in order to complete the amount of outstanding tasks before the Christmas period.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare assured the opposition leader that messages will be sent to ministries.
Mr Sogavare meanwhile said the national budget should be ready by this week to allow the Public Accounts Committee to scrutinize it for seven days, next week.
