THE Malaita Provincial Government (MPG) has acknowledged the significant contributions of the Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACOM) to the development of both the province and the nation.
Deputy Premier Randol Sifoni expressed deep appreciation for ACOM’s continuous support to the people and government of Malaita through its various church ministries.
He said the arrival of the 10th Southern Cross vessel in Malaita highlights ACOM’s ongoing commitment to delivering essential church services to the people of the province.
Deputy Premier Sifoni also highlighted ACOM’s role in advancing educational investments in the province.
“Thanks to ACOM’s educational initiatives, we have seen its mission-owned schools help educate past and present leaders, as well as future leaders and skilled professionals,” Deputy Premier Sifoni stated.
He made specific mention of two key ACOM institutions: Charles E. Fox School in South Malaita and Airahu Rural Training Centre (RTC) in Central Malaita.
“These schools have significantly contributed to the province’s educational development, preparing a skilled workforce for the ongoing advancement of both the province and the nation,” he added.
Deputy Premier Sifoni also acknowledged the historical impact of the Southern Cross, which has been instrumental in establishing and sustaining these mission schools.
He said the Malaita Provincial Government is open to further educational investments from ACOM and welcomes any initiative aimed at enhancing educational opportunities in the province.
Deputy Premier Sifoni said ACOM’s contributions to educational development have profoundly changed the lives of many Malaitans.
He said the Malaita Provincial Government is eager to pursue life-changing development initiatives and will work closely with churches to ensure meaningful educational investments for all.
