SEVENTH-DAY Adventist (SDA) youths vowed to make spiritual changes in their respective community churches after the conclusion of the mini camporee of the Eastern Region of Malaita.
The Atoifi Adventist College in East Kwaio in Malaita Province was instrumental in hosting the first ever mini camporee at Atoifi Heights Campsite from 17 to 22 September.
It concluded with the participants’ lighting up of candles and making promises to make spiritual changes in their community churches across the eastern region of Malaita Province.
The mini camporee coordinator Harry Samuel, in a statement, said it was an emotional night for him as the young people lit their candles and promised to go back to their community churches to reach out to others with what they learned during the course of the camporee.
After the closing ceremony night, all the youths travelled back to their communities in East Kwara’ae, East Fataleka, East Kwaio and East Are’are.
“As their leader l want to take this time to wish them all a safe journey back home and may our good Lord continue to empower them as they continue to shine to others,” Mr Samuel said.
The theme for the mini camporee was “I will go to shine to others.”
