HUNDREDS of Adventist members under the Western sub-region of the SDA church are in Kukudu, Kolombangara, Western Province (WP) for a weeklong camp meeting.
The spiritual program brought together Adventist members from various islands around the province including Kolombangara, Gizo, New Georgia, Rendova, Simbo, Rannoggah and Vella.
A team from Solomon Islands Mission (SIM) based Honiara are in Kukudu to officiate and facilitate in the program.
A statement from the Adventist Church Facebook page said, “this camp is not just another camp meeting – it’s a moment of renewal and a call to action.
“On Sunday, March 23, the Western Sub Region Camp Meeting began in Kukudu, bringing together believers ready to answer God’s call.
“With the theme, “I Will Go to the Ends of the Earth – Here Am I, Lord, Send Me,” everyone are reminded of the powerful words from Isaiah 6:8: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’
“May this time of renewal transform God’s people and prepare to serve with open hearts and willing hands,” the statement said.

On Monday a welcome ceremony was conducted by the Adventist members following the arrival of the SIM delegation in Kukudu led by Pr David Filo and his supporting pastors.
The brief welcome featured garlanding of the guests and a welcome song.
This week’s program featured various sessions and talks during the day and a series of presentation from the word of God being shared by assigned speakers each evening.
Reports said, most of the participating members have enjoyed their time so far at the William Patovaki camp ground. Some of the members arrived in Kukudu on Thursday to set up their camp.
The camp meeting is important to allow the Church leaders to remind them about strengthening their faith and committing their lives before conducting their outreach programs for 2025.
The gathering also allowed the Church officials to update members about some of the Church programs and activities for this year.
The program will end this weekend on Sunday.
