Algerian Ambassador to Solomon Islands, Abdelaziz Lahiouel has paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga on Thursday.
Solomon Islands and Algeria has established diplomatic relations since 2012.
Mr Maelanga while welcoming Ambassador Lahiouel and congratulated him for his appointment.
The two leaders discussed issues of common interest to both countries and how to further cooperated on international issues.
The two leaders pledged their commitments towards the issue of climate change both at the national and international levels.
Ambassador Lahiouel started his professional career in 1980 with the UN Commission for Africa.
In 1988, he was appointed as First Secretary for the Algerian Government based in Washington DC. Late he was posted to other countries including Brussels, Tanzania, Poland and Australia.
