Three men accused of robbing the Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) at the Kwaimani building, East Honiara, last year have denied the allegations made out against them.
Security Officer Joe Silas, Dilo Faiga and Saverio Sulimae have again entered their not guilty pleas yesterday to the amended charges.
They have already entered their not guilty pleas to the charges but the prosecution had amended the wordings on the particulars of the robbery charges, in which they entered their pleas again.
A pre-trial conference will be heard on their case on 15 April.
The men were charged with one count each of robbery and another one count each of malicious damage.
They were accused of robbing the ANZ ATM machine at the Kwaimani building at Kukum, East Honiara on the night of July 25, last year.
Police alleged the accused men arrived in a car allegedly driven by Sulimae that has a fake plate number at the Kwaimani building and allegedly uprooted the ATM machine using a crow bar.
It was also alleged that one of the men who is still large was armed with a rifle.
After allegedly uprooting the ATM Machine, they lifted it onto the waiting car and took off with one of the security officers and went to Henderson where they broke open the machine that contained more than $400,000.
Police further alleged that only more than $200,000 from the top tray was stolen as they could not open the bottom tray.
The stolen ATM machine weighs more than 200 kilograms.
Wayne Ghemu, Lazarus Kwaiga and George Gray of Public Solicitor’s Office are representing the trio while Public Prosecutor Nelson Dhita appeared for the state.
