THE official dates for the two by-elections in Guadalcanal Province will be announced next week, Tuesday, 8th April.
The upcoming by-elections are for West Guadalcanal Constituency Parliamentary Election and Paripao Ward Provincial Assembly Election in North-East Guadalcanal, the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC) which is organizing the event announced today, Friday, 4th April.
In an advisory, SIEC said, the announcements will be made in two separate venues followed by operational update in a press conference at the Electoral Office, Vavae Ridge.
Both events will be happening respectively on Tuesday 8th of April, 2025.
At 10am Governor General (GG) His Excellency Sir David Tiva Kapu will officially announce the Parliamentary Election Date for West Guadalcanal Parliamentary Election at the Government House, State Ridge in East Honiara.
Following the announcement of the election date, GG will sign the election date legal instrument.
At 11: 30am the Minister of the Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening will announce the date for the Paripao Ward Provincial Assembly Election at the Provincial Government Institutional Strengthening (MPGIS), Anthony Saru Building, Point Cruz.
Following the announcement, the minister signs the election date for legal instrument for Paripao by-election.
The by-election came about following the death of the former leaders.
