Anglican Archbishop for Canterbury the most Reverend Right Justin Welby and his wife Mrs. Caroline Welby will visit the country this weekend.
He will be accompanied by Bishop Nigel Stock who is the Bishop at Lambeth Palace and chair of the Melanesian mission U.K and canon precious Omuku, the Archbishop’s Advisor.
The visit is purposely to meet with the Archbishop of the Church of Melanesia the most Reverend David Vunagi.
His visit is strictly private and they will make courtesy calls to the Governor General, the Prime Minister and the British high commissioner.
The archbishop from Canterbury will also be taking time to speak to the clergies and other lay workers while Mrs. Welby will talk to the clergy’s wives and mothers union.
Archbishop the most Reverend David Vunagi in a press statement said that the visit in Honiara this weekend is part of a visit to the province of Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea, province of the Anglican Church in Australia and province of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia.
