TULAGI police, Central Province were reportedly deployed to Magotano village last week to investigate threats made to villagers.
Police commander Fred Satu said police dispatched the police team following reports a group of boys were going around threatening villagers.
Mr Satu said an eye witness told Tulagi police the group of boys were armed with guns, knives, a chain saw and slings.
“They threatened the villagers and demanded $1000 and 2 life pigs.”
Mr Satu said people in the villager have been living in fear after the incident.
“We sent a team to investigate the incident.”
He said no arrest has been made but investigation will continue.
The police commander appealed to the villagers to assist police in the investigation.
