INVESTIGATION into the alleged robbery of an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) at the Kwaimani building, Kukum, is still ongoing.
A suspect is still at large and is yet to be arrested by police.
Police Prosecutor Ethel Mae’ue yesterday informed the court of the ongoing investigations and sought further adjournment.
This is to allow police to continue with the investigation.
She will update the court on the status of the investigation on the next court hearing, which is on August 25.
The two accused Dilo Faiga, and the driver of the car used in the alleged robbery, Saverio Sulimae, have already seen lawyers from the Public Solicitor’s Office (PSO) while Security Officer Joe Silas is still without a lawyer.
A PSO lawyer yesterday confirmed the issue of legal representation in court and added that police are yet to serve disclosures.
Principal Magistrate Shepherd Lapo further remanded the men in custody and adjourned the matter.
The three men are facing armed robbery in relation to the incident on the night of July 25.
Police alleged the men arrived in a car with a fake plate number at the Kwaimani building and using crow bar, uprooted the ANZ ATM machine.
It was also alleged that one of the suspects who is still at large was armed with a rifle.
After allegedly uprooting the ATM Machine, they lifted it onto the waiting car and took off with one of the security officers and went to Henderson where they broke open the machine that contained more than $400,000.
Police further alleged that only more than $200,000 from the top tray was stolen as they could not open the bottom tray.
The weight of the stolen ATM was more than 200 kilograms.
