Auki police, Malaita Province undergoing Public Order Management (POM) training in preparation for the National General Elections.

Mr Tafoa said the training is to prepare the force for any disorders or any disorderly circumstances that may arise during the election.
“Today, we go through basics and on Thursday we’ll go through weapon handling.
“This is to equip the officers with necessary skills so that they are confident in handling any public disorder.
“We also covered basic skills on how to control a crowd and disperse a crowd whenever necessary.
“As an officer facilitating the training, I believe after these training officers will have confidence in themselves to face whatever situation that may arise.
“As we are approaching this very important event, it’s is necessary to prepare for any unforeseen circumstance.
“This is not only for the national election but to prepare the officers with necessary skills to command any public disorder that might occur,” he added.
