TODAY (Tuesday 25th January), a Royal Australian Air Force C-130 delivered the second load of medical equipment and supplies to Honiara.
A statement from the Australian High Commission said this forms part of Australia’s 19 tonne package of COVID-19 support.
The statement said today’s flight delivered additional personal protective equipment, medical supplies, oxygen concentrators and further UNICEF emergency water and sanitation and dignity kits.
“A big thank-you to all officials, including Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australian Federal Police and Defence Australia for working hard behind the scenes to ensure this much needed equipment arrives safely and can be mobilised quickly for use in Solomon Islands,” the statement said.
