Dear Editor – Please give me space in your editorial column to write briefly regarding the news carried out in Solomon star issue no: 5627 of 27thSeptember 2014, Lomo clarifies beacon installation.
It is confused(surprise and confused) that the PS aviation as responsible boss and the accountable person responsible for all money expended (Pacific vaizeds company & associates) more than SBD $2million, misinformed the public into thinking that the provincial Airports NDBS (non-directionalbeacon) in Auki, Kirakira, Munda, Rennell and in operational status. A real shame! None of these NDBs are operational or work.
Pacific Vaized engineers had blown up all the transmitters and Automatic tuning Units because they don’t even know how to simply set up ATU for the equipment to match the Antenna.
They also fail to provide the earth Mat Radials that is paramount important for all NDBs installations as technically required specified in the installation hand book provided by the manufacturer Indra Company of Australia.
Presumable the PS must have worked collusively with Pacific Vaizeds or the air traffic manager to mislead the ‘flying public’ in untruth that the SBD$2m awarded to Pacific Vaizeds to install the NDBs had resulted in the NDB working.
Pacific Vaizeds and the spinners in the ministry of aviation connived, acted subtly (as conman) and ostentatiously (show-off pretending they know the task) falsified and misinformed the public.
Also if the NDBs are in operational status, why the same NDBs appear again or retendered in the flamboyant brochure prepared as tender document CTB C 49/14?
It means that they are not operating and this is confirmed by an electrician who installed the power system for the equipment.
Fortunate this tender CTB C49/14, which was pre-prepared by Pacific Vaizeds technical adviser and the soinners in the ministry of aviation was blocked or held back by the appropriate bodies.
Had it not being held back, lump sum of SBD$19 million sought under this tender will selfishly pocketed by the greedy few,the money monger.
In retrospective of what had happen to the SBD$2million allocated for NDB rehabilitation project for Auki, Kirakira, munda, Rennel and / which was directly contractedly awarded to Pacific Vaizeds : It is crazy, stupid and unethical to award similar or contracts of the same nature to companies/personnel who are technically incompetent.
To do so could imply obliquity or people with no morale sanity and sound thinking.
For a boss to be oblivious to what is going on under his nose and say he is not aware, is indeed unfounded therefore needs thorough investigations.
Incompetency or debauchery must have sprouted and flourish in the Aviation department.
As the director comms Solsky, I must let the public aware that the Lata NDB installation was done professionally by the former qualified technician of civil aviation and meteorology division who served for 26 years in the engineering section.
Comms Solsky installed the Honiara NDB replacement in 2008, subcontracted by Airways New Zealand and is currently working.
The same installation was carried out at lata. The contract was terminated earlier without proven independent technical inspection reports carried out.
It was merely a collaborated pre planned by Pacific Vaizeds and associates from civil aviation that paved the way for all the NBD contracts directly awarded to Pacific Vaizeds without the CTB or MTB aviation public tender processes.
The termination letter was for the incompletion of the NDB hut, technical task which did not fall within the purview of the award.
I will seek legal opinion why Comms Solsky was reputably tarnished and not Pacific Vaizeds, the culprit that expended SBD$2m plus with no positive results attained/ accomplished.
Finally I would like to suggested the internal Auditor of the Ministry of Finance to step in and scrutinise and peruse these unscrupulous dealing hence to present the worms insidiously wreaking our country and also to understand covers the dubious dealings in the Ministry of Communication and Aviation
