Fiu Hydro Project awareness program has opened the ears and eyes of the core resource owners in Malaita.
The awareness program which wast aimed at educating the core resources owners on the projects and its benefits and limitation has been widely welcomed by the six core tribes in Central Kwara’ae.
Speaking to his paper in an interview the chairman of the Fiu Hydro Resource Owner Alfred Gegeo said so far the five tribes that already went through the awareness program are satisfied with the awareness and thanked the awareness team for opening their minds on the subject matter.
Mr Gegeo said now that the tribes have learnt about the importance of projects, its blessing and limitations together with the process involved they are preparing them selves to receive the project.
He said the core tribes are now more organized compared to before where they currently working on the missing links to prepare them for the royalty of the project when the project starts.
