Floor-ball Federation Solomon Islands (FFSI) and the Solomon Islands National Floor-ball team, Basiotos, is optimistic ahead of their two international friendly matches against New Zealand and Singapore.
Both matches will take place in Honiara on 17th and 18th September.
They will coincide with the first ever men’s U19 Floor-ball championship 2025 Asia Oceania qualification to be held at Friendship Hall, Panatina.
Unfortunately, Solomon Islands is not participating as host country in the qualification tournament.
Head coach and President, Adam Olofsson told Star Sport said they aiming to win both international friendly matches.
“We have a great game plan against New Zealand and hopefully we can fulfil the dream of beating them”, Olofsson added.
However, he said their second match against Singapore will be very tough because floor-ball is the second biggest sport in their country.
“But I believe if my players can work together and use their strong bodies, we got from fitness trainings we will fulfil our dream of beating them,” the head coach said.
He said it will not be easy, but believes the team will deliver what they are aiming for.
“It’s clear in terms of level on the sport, they have been playing the sport for a very long time, while for us I just introduced the sport last year.
“However, I believe so much on the boys,” he added.
