THE main event for the Miss Solomon Beauty Pageant will start today with a float parade from Rove to Lawson Tama stadium.
The parade is expected to be colourful as eight contestants will make their public appearance on each float along the main road to Lawson Tama.
Leading the parade will be Miss Red Mason, Lovinda Reggie, Miss Solomon Islands Football Federation Gladish Sade, Miss Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) Beverly Mawhinney, Miss SIPA Dorris Muaki, Miss Honiara City Therea Rokaia, Miss SIPA Amanda Tepo and Miss Mokolo Enterprises Deenne Enoch.
They will then participate in a speech competition tomorrow at the National Museum auditorium before going for the final crowning on Saturday night at the Heritage Park Hotel.
In lead up to the main events the contestants have attended church service at Kukum SDA church and Wesley United church and visited the Prime Minister, Special Handicap Centre, Ministry of Women, Youths, Children and Family Affairs and Christian Care Centre.
The pageants contestants after completing their visits said they were excited and ready for the main events.
They said it was a challenging, tiring but it was a good experience for them.
They said through their visits they have learnt a lot and get good information about women issues and domestic violence.
The winner of the Miss Solomon Islands Beauty Pageant will represent Solomon Island in the Miss South Pacific at Roratonga in Cook Islands next month.
