The Ausport-SIRUF National Rugby 7s Championship is set to commence in Honiara on Tuesday evening, 17th Sept 2024, with the opening ceremony and matches to be played from Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th September 2024.
Bellona will be participating in both the men’s and women’s competitions this year, and they are putting in strong teams, with the inclusion of some of our top sevens players in town.
Therefore, the Bellona Rugby Union Association is appealing to the good people from Bellona in Honiara and overseas, relatives, friends and rugby supporters to support the teams in whatever way you can.
“It was impossible to stage any fundraisings for the teams in the last couple of weeks to cover the costs involved in the teams’ participation, due to the few deaths that had happened within the Renbel community here in town and back home.
“Therefore, we are relying on your kind and generous donations and sponsorship to ensure that our teams compete strongly in the upcoming tournament. Your support can be in kinds or money.
“For enquiries you can inbox Nick Hatigeva or call him on mobile 7488930. For sponsorship or donation, please inbox or contact Barry Pugeva (team manager) or Nick,” the Association said in statement said.
