HONIARA Hotel, supported by Solomon Star Company, are organising their first Fundraising event tonight for the victims of the recent floods.
Local businessman and owner of Honiara hotel Sir Thomas Chan said that Solomon Islanders must give from their hearts to support our people who are desperate for very basic necessities.
“Even though people might not have much, just the act of giving something is the most caring and helpful act we could give to our fellow brothers and sisters,” Sir Thomas said.
The Flood Fundraising Event will be held tonight Friday 11th of April at the Le Flamingo club, Honiara Hotel, from 8pm till 2am and also on Saturday the 12th April.
All gate takings and beverage sales on these two nights will go directly towards the Flood Fundraising Appeal fund.
The public are urged to come and support this great cause.
Sir Thomas Chan’s Fundraising committee in the past years had raised funds for the Western province tsunami, West Guadalcanal floods, Asian Tsunami, China Earthquakes, Fijian floods, Taiwan Floods, Victoria Bush fires, Queensland floods, Auki Primary School fire, Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust funds for the Commonwealth, to name a few.
The Fundraising committee is also asking local groups/bands who wish to assist through their singing performances to contact Derek at Honiara Hotel on 21737 or Lanieta at Paoa Fm on 38984.
