Church groups and individuals in East Malaita have been presented with outboard motor engines and boats by their Constituency office during a handing over ceremony.
The recipients were the Kingdom Prayer Centre, Anglican Church, Baptist church, SDA churches and individual fishing projects.
One recipient told Solomon Star that the equipment are important to help improve the means of transportation for the people of East Malaita.
In the case of the churches, the donation will help a lot during times of mission activities.
“We sometimes transport our teams to other parts in east Malaita and we have cross waters and salt water, therefore these timely gifts will help improve our movements with the gospel,” he said.
Another island resident who received another outboard motor engine said that that will help him with his fishing small business.
“On many occasions, the only way for a person living on the islands to get money is through fishing. If you don’t do fishing, you will not earn money.”
“I would like to thank the East Malaita Constituency under the leadership of Manasseh Maelanga for supporting us with thes outboard motor engines,” he said.
East Malaita Constituency is committed to support churches and individuals with their activities to improve their standard of living in the rural areas, Maelanga said.
