Boxing fans and supporters will witness the first boxing actions for this year when the Honiara Amateur Boxing Association (HABA) resumed bouts on Saturday, January 30.
This was confirmed by the Honiara Amateur Boxing Association.
The HABA calls on all participating clubs to report to the HABA Office to confirm that their boxers are ready for the resumption of the competition.
“We believe most clubs have resumed training for this year so we have marked the end of the month to resume fights,” a statement reads.
The statement says the plan to resume competition this month is also because HABA have a busy schedule for this year’s calendar.
They are also eyeing preparation for the 2017 Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu.
Last year they hosted five tournaments out of which a total of 95 bouts were staged.
The HABA will make an announcement about all programs for this year following a meeting mid this week.
