SOLOMON Islands has signed a historic Landing Party Agreement with Australia this week in Canberra.
The Agreement is a significant milestone towards constructing of the international and domestic cables.
It was signed between the PS of Finance and Chairman of the Board of SICCL Harry Kuma and the Australian High Commissioner to Solomon Islands Roderick Brazier.
Prime Minister Rick Hou and his Australian counterpart Malcolm Turnbull witnessed the event.
Mr Hou said his Government remains committed and is eager to see this project becoming a success.
“I thank the Government of Australia for their commitment and support and we will continue to work together to witness the successful implementation of the project in the near future,” he said.
The parties to the Agreement are the Solomon Islands Submarine Cable Company Limited (SISCCL) and Australian Government.
