The Lauru Football Association (LFA) capital league has come to its exciting conclusion as the top four teams will battle for championship in the final showdown scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday this week in Taro.
The final matches were originally scheduled last month, but was postponed by the organizing committee due to other commitments.
The LFA vice president, Lawrence Isa, representing the local organizing committee expressed his excitement for the conclusion of the season.
“I’m excited that the finals are going down this week,” Isa stated.
“We have witnessed an incredibly competitive league this year, and these four teams have truly earned their spot in the finales,”
“The finales have been delayed because we are focusing on major events, the Solomon cup 2025 and the international friendly in Bougainville, but we are getting it done now,” he said.
The official features for the semi-final and final matches has already been released by the organizers, which shows a promising two days of intense football action.
On Wednesday, the semi-final will see Taro Royals take on Choiseul provincial government, with kicks-off at 12:00 pm, followed by the clash between SOE and MYSA FC at 3pm.
The Tournament will reach its peak on Thursday, with the grand finale at 1:00 pm, where the two victorious semi-finalists will meet to decide who takes the trophy and is crowned the champion of the capital league.
However, as revealed by the organizing committee, the prices were as follows;
1st – $5000 with Trophy
2nd – $4000
3rd – $3000
4th – $2000
Launce on 10th of May, 2025, in Taro, the capital league, serves as a platform for identifying new talents and provides an avenue for newly trained referees to showcase their skills.
