LCC yet to decide on executing investigation
OUTGOING Member of Parliament for Central Kwara’ae Jackson Fiulaua is likely to face investigation by the Leadership Code Commission (LCC).
A constituent who wanted his named withheld said he had already filed and furnished evidences of alleged misappropriation of constituency funds, to the LCC.
The Solomon Star also sighted the evidences of the allegations which include invoice and receipt of money paid into the outgoing MP’s bank account for his Motel in Auki, Rarasu Motel.
The constituent provided a copy of an invoice and a receipt with payment schedules of an amount of over $200,000 which was allegedly paid to the outgoing MP’s own Motel.
“That was money from the tourism funds received by the outgoing MP on behalf of his constituents in October 2012.
“The amount paid to his own Motel was part of the $560,000 the Ministry of Culture and Tourism paid to the Central Kwara’ae Constituency.”
The concern constituent also alleged that the MP got the first harvest of the RCDF when he was elected.
“According to these payment schedule, Central Kwara’ae former MP the late Fred Fono advanced $400,000, therefore only $600,000 was paid to the Central Kwara’ae Constituency.
“We do not know what he used the money for but these evidences showed the outgoing MP paid that $600,000 into his own business account known as the JF Construction, instead of the Central Kwara’ae Constituency account.
“There were allegations he used that money to recover what JF Construction spent to aid his campaign, but that piece of information, I cannot confirm.”
The constituent said he filed all the evidences to back up his case with the LCC, last week.
“I would like to see this matter investigated because these evidences are undeniable and if proven guilty, the outgoing MP must pay for allegedly using constituency money for his own businesses.”
The Solomon Star was given copies of the evidences and a copy of the letter written to the LCC to investigate.
The Solomon Star also confirmed with the LCC that the formal complaint was received.
Director Solomon Kalu confirmed that they received the complaint but that LCC is yet to decide on whether to commence investigations.
Attempts to talk to Mr Fiulaua on Thursday were futile.
