THE Central Islands provincial speaker, John Bosamata, is appealing to everyone in the province to work together with the newly elected premier Patrick Vasuni to move the province forward.
Mr Bosamata said that it is good that everyone must work in unity to serve the interest of the province.
“I want to appeal to everyone starting from executive down to the grass root people to work together with Mr Vasuni to move the province forward,” he said.
He said for any improvement or development to happen in the province, it needs the hands of everyone.
“I know that Mr Vasuni has his plans just like any other leaders but without you, those plans will not come to fulfill.
“Therefore, as a Speaker for this province, I want you to work together with him to try and achieve whatever you can during these 18 months,” he said.
Furthermore, it is time that everyone must work in unity to do something for this province, he added.
Mr Vasuni has won the election on Wednesday by polling nine votes while his opponent Selwyn Mapuli polled 4 votes.
Mr Vasuni took his oath straight after the election.
He will finalise his executive very soon.
His election comes after his predecessor Selwyn Mapuli was ousted in a vote of no confidence on Monday.
