A handicap man from Visale northwest Guadalcanal is calling on their newly elected members of parliament to learn from past leaders’ failures and strive for change.
Stanley Mokunda said changes through development in our societies can happen if parliamentarians have strong desires to achieve it.
“It can happen if they have the genuine concern to change this country for a better.
He said change can be easily achieved today because of the existing improvements and developments unlike in the past.
“Roads are already there, communication is making life easier, people are more educated and technology is growing therefore we can build on those foundations.
He said in colonial times, life was very difficult and drastic change was hard to achieve.
Mr Mokunda said development in communities on agriculture can encourage farmers and people to be self reliant and not depend on leaders.
“That is part of development for a rural person.”
Mr Mokunda encourages people of Gudalcanal to work closely with their members of parliament for better change in their communities.
