THE international Christian reggae band Christafari electrified Auki town last week on Thursday night, drawing hundreds of fans from across Malaita Province to an uplifting and vibrant two-day concert.
The show, which marked the band’s second visit to Auki, attracted many from as far as West Kwara’ae and Central Kwara’ae, including many living in and around the township.
The massive turnout transformed Auki into a hub of joyful celebration, music, and spiritual reflection last week.
The visiting Christian reggae band staged two concerts last wee, the first on Wednesday and the final one on Thursday.
From the very first beat, Christafari’s infectious rhythms and powerful gospel messages vibrated with the crowd, creating a unique blend of entertainment and worship.
Audience members, young and old, danced, sang, and rejoiced together in what many described as an unforgettable experience.
Malaita Province senior government worker Frank Samo who witnessed the concert said, the concert is more than just music.
“It’s a platform for showcasing talent, launching their album, and celebrating cultural and Christian values through music. Events like this foster unity and strengthen our sense of community.” Mr Samo said

The concert highlighted Christafari’s sign blend of reggae filled with cultural and spiritual foundations, offering both a high energy presentation and moments of deep reflection.
For Auki, their visit was widely seen as an opportunity to share international Christian music with local communities while also celebrating local traditions and identity.
Mr. Samo commended the people of Auki for their strong support and encouraged continued hospitality as the band spent two days in the town.
“The presence of Christafari has brought families, friends, and residents together in a meaningful way,” he said.
“This is what community spirit looks like.”
As part of their concert tour, the band members took time to visit several locations around Auki, including the Lilisian community.
In a statement Chrisafari said “We share the love of Jesus when we give an altar call.

The group performed its final show on Sunday in Honiara.
