A FIVE-DAY community health development forum aimed at addressing health development plans of the South Seas Evangelical Church (SSEC) and it members is being held this week.
It started Monday at Kobito, east Honiara, and will conclude today.
About 20 church coordinators from the SSEC churches in Honiara, Guadalcanal and Western region took part in the event.
SSEC national health development coordinator Joash Indu said the forum was held purposely for churches and community coordinators to discuss health development issues affecting its members.
“The issues include future vision and goals of the church which is based on eight components of the church model,” Mr Indu said.
He said they also did community profiling, mobilizing, planning and management.
Mr Indu added the church workers are visiting families to collect data’s on healthy living in their society.
“Data are being collected on clean environment, sanitation and water supply.”
He said after this forum they will compile all the data and see some weaknesses which communities need to improve at.
Meanwhile Mr Indu said after this forum all the coordinators will return to their own communities to conduct awareness programs on community health development.
