NINETEEN police officers in Central Islands Province (CIP) were involved in a walk from the Tulagi provincial police headquarters to the Diocese of Central Solomon and back to the provincial police headquarters last week.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Inspector Hugo Maelasi says the march is part of the police high visibility as well as maintaining the physical fitness of the officers in the province.
“Police at Tulagi also want to maintain RSIPF code of discipline and have confidence to address any public disorder within the CIP,” Mr Maelasi added.
“I appeal to good community members and chiefs with church leaders in the province to support the work of the police to carry out its policing work within the province,” he added.
“As law abiding citizens we must respect our communities and stakeholders to make Central Islands Province crime free this year 2018.”
