HONIARA City Council will dissolve on December 9 this year.
And city council voters are expected to go to the polls on December 10.
City Clerk Charles Kelly confirmed, Wednesday.
Mr Kelly said preparations are on the way as council heads towards dissolving the house.
“Plans are in place and the current executive and council management is working on plans and prepare towards the election on December 10,” Mr Kelly said.
He revealed a total budget estimate of $960,000 has been submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs for the city council election.
Mr Kelly said they will wait on the caretaker minister and the permanent secretary to give council any feedback on the matter.
When asked as to what list council will use for the coming election, Mr Kelly said the executive has requested the one to be used in the national elections.
Mr Kelly said as long as that is accepted, the council should be ready to dissolve the house and also to prepare to hold its elections a day after.
