Maintaining a clean and healthy learning environment has been highlighted as a key priority at Aoani Extension Primary School in West Kwaio, Malaita Province.
Thats according to the school’s Deputy Principal, Ben Oloisae when speaking about the importance of cleanliness at the school.
Mr. Oloisae said that keeping the school environment clean is one of the most important responsibilities for everyone within the school community.
He explained that a clean environment plays a significant role in supporting effective learning and ensuring that students feel comfortable and safe when they attend classes.
“To keep our school clean is one of the most important priorities that we must address,” Mr. Oloisae said.
“When our students come to school to learn, they need a good and healthy environment that helps them focus on their education.”
He emphasized that maintaining cleanliness is not only the responsibility of the school administration but also a shared duty among teachers, students, parents, and guardians.
According to him, when everyone works together, it becomes easier to maintain a tidy and welcoming school setting.
Mr. Oloisae urged all members of the school community to take active roles in ensuring the school surroundings remain clean at all times.
He noted that students should be encouraged to develop good habits such as properly disposing of rubbish, keeping classrooms tidy, and respecting school facilities.
Teachers also play an important role by guiding and reminding students about the value of cleanliness and hygiene in their daily school activities. By doing so, students can learn the importance of caring for their environment both at school and at home.
Parents and guardians were also called upon to support the school’s efforts by encouraging their children to respect the school environment and maintain good habits related to cleanliness.
Mr. Oloisae further stated that when a school environment is clean and well maintained, it creates a positive atmosphere for teaching and learning. It also helps prevent health issues that may arise from poor sanitation.
He believes that building a culture of cleanliness among students will help them grow into responsible citizens who value and protect their environment in the future.
Aoani Extension Primary School continues to promote awareness on the importance of environmental cleanliness, encouraging cooperation among staff, students, and the wider community to ensure the school remains a safe, healthy, and welcoming place for learning.
