Solomon Islands Central Coast FC has bowed out of the OFC champions League 2025 tournament after a 1 all draw in their final Group B match with the Ifira Blackbirds FC on Sunday at the national stadium in East Honiara.
The draw means have failed to secure enough points to be able to qualify for the semi-final.
It was an intense clash between the two teams as they both exhibited a wonderful and powerful performance throughout the whole match.
The first half finished with no points registered for both teams as the whistle blew signifying the half time period.
Second half came and after much renewed strength the Ifira Blackbirds managed to find the back of the net straight after coming into the match just at the 46th minute of play when player Godine Tenene inserted a well placed crossing from his teammate.
After some good football work by the hosts, it paid off at the 64th minute when a well-executed move by Marlon Tahioa paid off as he chipped the ball over the Blackbirds goalkeeper and scored the draw.
The score reignited the joy of the local fans witnessing the game as they hoped for a must win game for Central Coast but unfortunately the score remains at 1 all after the final whistle.
For Group B, Hekari United FC secured 7 points topping their table and Ifira Blackbirds FC registered 5 points trailing second while Central Coast only managed to secure 3 points and Tupapa at the bottom with no registered points.
Hekari United FC and Ifira Blackbirds have made it through to the semi-final rounds later this week.
