ABOUT 40 communities around Guadalcanal province have ended their sub-project implementation committee (SIC) training over the weekend.
The training was organized by Rural Development Program (RDP) for committees from the affected communities around the province.
It was held at the Solomon Islands Development Trust (SIDT) conference building.
David Luza from the Guadalcanal provincial support unit team leader said, the training was to educate these people how to implement projects funded by RDP.
“We have trained participants from the 40 communities and the last group to be trained has now completed their training,” Mr Luza said.
He explained they have been training one group or committee per week for the past weeks and months.
After this workshop, he believes these communities will be ready to implement RDP supported projects.
These projects includes water supply, schools and others that will help those affected people from the flash flood last year to recover.
