The Polo Sports Club Association (PSCA) has successfully launched its community league for soccer and netball.
The sports event is being organised based on theme “Unity through Sport” in Polo Village, Northwest Choiseul last week.
The program was attended by Lauru Football Association (LFA) representative and Chairman of Sports for Ward 11, Toswall Vanakana, PSCA committee members and the whole community.
In an interview with the leagues chairman, Leslie Erastus stated that the league aims to develop the level of football and netball skills, paving the way for recognition at the provincial level.
Leslie emphases the importance of establishing the community based league to provide space for the talented individuals in the community.
“We believe that with the establishment of this league, our youths will be engaged in sports, and avoid involvement in anti-social activities,” he said.
He added that the league is also a venue for young players to utilize their talents and become professional football and netball stars in the future.
Erastus also acknowledged the LFA partnership with Solomon Island Football Federation (SIFF) in supporting sports from the provincial level down to rural communities.
The league will run from July to November 2025.
