A Honiara resident is concern with the continuous selling of betel nut & cigarette in front of shops at the City centre, Point Cruz area.
The resident said city council should conduct hourly patrols along the streets of Honiara to crack down on such illegal vendors.
He said Chinese shop owners should not entertain or encourage people to sell betel nut and cigarette in front of their shops or even allow it in their shops like others have done.
The Honiara man said it seems a lot of vendors are not serious in following the laws of the council.
A law enforcement officer when asked yesterday said street vendors should go the right place to sell their betel nuts such as the Kukum market.
He said its important that people must follow the laws of the city.
“Its important to follow the rules and regulations of this city to avoid being prosecuted,” the officer said.
